Every morning my wife and I look out at our view of Apalachicola Bay and remind ourselves how lucky we are!
We first vacationed on St. George Island in August 1997, and bought our first home here in September. After only one week here we had fallen in love with the uncrowded pristine beaches, the abundant fresh seafood, and the friendly people of Florida’s Forgotten Coast.
Before moving to St. George Island full-time in 2003 I was president of a wholesale building products business in Atlanta, but managed multiple real estate investments both in Georgia and on St. George Island. When my wife and I decided to retire to St. George Island I began my second career as a full-time real estate agent.
I love helping people find their dream home here in Paradise. Whether you want a second home, a rental investment, or a lot on which to someday build your dream home I am the expert who can best help you achieve your goal.
For many years while living beachfront I was a volunteer turtler and was able to share my knowledge/experiences with visitors on my morning walks. It was during that time that I decided to call my website “Stevesisland” because that was an easy way for people to remember me so they could contact me with their real estate questions.
I am a devout steward of our environment and active Island resident by supporting the Coastal Cleanups, the St. George Island Civic Club (past president), the St. George Island Lighthouse Association, and the Franklin County Humane Society. I have been voted “Man of the Year” by my peers and presently serve on the Board of Directors for the St. George Plantation. Every spring I enjoy serving as a judge in the Chili Cook-off and working as a volunteer to help the SGI Volunteer Fire Department raise money. My wife and I revived the Island Bingo tradition in 2004 and it has become the main fundraiser for the St. George Island Civic Club.
My hobbies include fishing, kayaking, reading (member of a local coed book club), walking, biking, photography (recently winning first and second place in the Plantation’s amateur photography contest), cooking, and technology!
Our three children and five grandchildren are my most important hobbies.
I understand the first time home buyer as well as the seasoned investor who sees the opportunities found in the Florida Forgotten Coast real estate market because I have been both. I have been the landlord, the renter, the part-time resident and now a full-time resident. St. George Island, Franklin County, Apalachicola and the Forgotten Coast are where I live and work and play.
I love our life here and I want to help you find the same satisfaction and enjoyment we have found living on the Forgotten Coast of Florida. This is Paradise.
